Curtis Banks
Principal Planner
Curtis has over 30 years of experience in planning and community development, with expertise in planning, building, affordable housing, and code enforcement. A life-long Bay Area resident, Curtis found his passion for the field during college, while taking a geography class that served as an introduction to planning. He has served as a Community Development Director and worked in a variety of capacities. He is skilled at leading staff, preparing budgets, and managing complex planning projects from comprehensive General Plan updates to Downtown Development Plan updates, and Neighborhood Plans to preparation of ordinances. Curtis has worked on a wide variety of residential and non-residential projects, including mixed-use projects, and has overseen the management of affordable housing programs.
Outside the office, Curtis, a long-time youth baseball coach, enjoys watching his two sons play baseball, going to the gym, and getting out on the golf course.
